If there has ever been a triumphant revival of a musical on Broadway, let it be the 2023 staging of Alfred Uhry’s compelling ‘Parade’.

‘Parade’ left a massive imprint on all theatregoers - lovers, professionals, critics, and amateurs alike, and with its heartrending tale of conviction, compassion, loyalty, and love in a world of division, mob mentality, deception, and bigotry, it drove an important message home. With heartfelt performances by a stellar cast, striking visuals, Jason Robert Brown’s incredible score, ‘Parade’ racked up no less than two Tony Awards, six Drama Desk Awards, and a New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Musical.

‘Parade’ is a dramatized account of the 1913 trial, conviction and eventual lynching of Jewish-American factory worker Leo Frank for the murder of a 13-year old girl, as a result of flawed legal proceedings, media sensationalism and misinformation. Rooted in discrimination, corruption, dogmatism, injustice, and mob mentality, the tale of Leo Frank serves as social commentary on, and testament of the eerie relevancy of this subject matter, even a century after the true events took place. Whilst the production has a sense of impending doom - especially since Leo Frank’s story is familiar, is it also filled with hope and humanity, and at the very heart of it, the incredible strength of the love between Leo and his wife.

‘Parade’ is a poignant musical that will move you like you’ve never been moved before, the music is a masterful blend of folk, rock, R&B and gospel genres, the production is a sensory experience, and the tale is heartwrenching and heartwarming at the same time - an all-around must-see.

And this summer, hot on the heels of its Broadway revival, the parade is finally marching down to the Ahmanson Theatre - just down the road from you! It’s not every day that a musical with such a great success takes a local stage, so you should grab this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity with both hands!

The Ahmanson Theatre is especially known for its comfortable seating across various levels, ultra modern sound and lighting, superb acoustics, and fantastic amenities. All-in-all, you can expect a theatrical experience for the books!

Make sure to get your hands on those premier seats now, and experience ‘Parade’ for yourself - it will stick with you long after the curtains have fallen and the theatre lights have dimmed.
