The play has been well received and won the 1982 Pulitzer Prize as well as the 1982 Best American Play Award from the New York Drama Critics Circle, and now it is coming to stage just for you. Fuller decided to pursue writing after seeing that his high school lacked any novels by African Americans, and boy are audiences happy he did.
